The Fahlmans
The historic and castle-like grounds of Buhl Mansion Guesthouse & Spa made a perfect backdrop for Doreen and Bobb’s intimate Jazz Age wedding in Sharon, PA (about 70 miles outside of Pittsburgh). With around 40 of their closest family and friends, the couple exchanged vows under a picturesque tent in the mansion gardens, followed by dinner and dancing in the carriage house with music by Steven Vance Entertainment. While the start of their day was rather rainy & gloomy, the sun came out as soon as the ceremony began and made for some truly gorgeous lighting during sunset!
The ceremony included a short sermon from the officiant, candle lighting, and a live violinist from Steven Vance Entertainment. Doreen made these floral arrangements herself! While the guests enjoyed cocktail hour inside the mansion, the newlyweds spent some time together taking portraits around the picturesque gardens and stone walls outside.
Finally, the reception took place inside the carriage house, a small & intimate space with just enough room for dinner & dancing. It was decorated with DIY signs, pearl-strung florals, and all the Roaring Twenties flair you could possibly need! I especially loved the tiny pistols and flasks the bride & groom carried throughout the day.
After the speeches, dinner, cake cutting, and some dancing, Doreen stepped out to change into her second dress and surprise Bobb! She reappeared at the reception lip-synching “I Wanna Be Loved By You” by Marilyn Monroe, ending her performance with a solid flask swig. After that, they continued the wild, Gatsby-esque dance party, and we snagged some sunset photos in the garden before I made my exit!
